I love this keepsake box, it measures 3 x 3 x 11/2" and is very sturdy. It would be very useful for holding jewellery or trinkets. Island indigo, Mint macaron and Whisper white are the colours used in this project but there are more pictures below showing this box made in different colours and decorated in different ways.
Cardstock measuring 10 x 6"
Scored on long side at 1/2, 31/2, 5. 8, 91/2"
Scored on short side at 11/2 and 41/2"
Once the cardstock has been scored and burnished at the above measurements the card should be cut and trimmed as shown above, and double sided tape positioned as shown.
DSP 23/4 x 11/4, four pieces required
DSP 23/4 x 1/2, one piece required
Attach the DSP to the cardstock as shown above.
Once the box has been assembled it should look like this, at this point attach two lengths of ribbon to the top and bottom of the box.
The base and lid of the box have been made from two pieces of chip board 31/2 x 31/2", these have then been glued to the centre of two pieces of DSP cut at 5 x 5". There should be an equal border of DSP around the chip board squares, and each corner of the DSP should be cut at an angle as shown above.
The lid and base are then completed by folding over the edges of DSP and securing with glue. Attach double sided tape to the top and bottom of the box and attach the base and lid, the ribbon can be tied into a bow to close the box.
The lid of the box was decorated with flowers, the Flower shop clear stamp set was used to create the flower images and these cut out using the pansy punch and petite petals punch, Metal rimmed pearls have decorated the centre of each flower.
