Paper Roses using Subtles Designer Series Paper Stacks
The Designer Series Paper stacks are retiring when the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalogues are launched on the 1st June, so there is still plenty of time to buy these beautiful papers.
If you still have some of this paper left to use up then this is a perfect project to try, these beautiful paper roses can be used as an embellishment for all kinds of projects or they are perfect by themselves.
These flowers are 3" in size and can be made from any DSP that you have in your stash, they are also a very good way of using up your scraps. Easy to make and attractive addition to any gift bag or box, a perfect project to make.
You will need four pieces of DSP each measuring 3 x 3"
Fold the DSP squares into halves, quarters and then fold in half again so that each square has been folded to look like the above picture. Using a pencil draw the shape of a petal on each.
Cut round the pencil shape as shown above and open out each flower, there will be eight petals to each flower.
Cut one petal from the first flower, two petals from the second, three petals from the third and cut the fourth flower in half. The seven pieces above are all you need to make the completed rose.
Glue the ends of each section together and these will make the different layers of the rose. I used a Bone Folder to slightly curl each section as this made it easier to bring both edges together, I used a hot glue gun to secure the edges although a liquid glue or fast fuse could be used instead.
Again using a bone folder gently curl back each petal before glueing the layers together starting with the seven petal layer.
This is the finished Rose which I think looks beautiful and could be made in an array of colours, Hope you have enjoyed the project.
